The TeenScreen National Center emphasizes the importance of mental health checkups for adolescents as an essential part of routine adolescent medical care. To this end, the TeenScreen National Center has a leadership team that works closely with a National Advisory Council of doctors, researchers, policy experts and advocates.
They provide tools and resources for community leaders, parents and clinicians to use in building awareness about the need for mental health checkups. Two of the leading programs offered by the TeenScreen National Center include the TeenScreen Primary Care program and the TeenScreen Schools and Communities program. At this time, the TeenScreen National Center for Mental Health Checkups programs and initiatives have reached more than 1100 primary care providers and are being implemented in nearly 600 school and community based locations in 46 states nationwide.
